The feeds have stopped flowing across the world — at least for now. Facebook confirmed Wednesday that several of its users are having trouble accessing the social network and its sister network, Instagram.
“We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing Facebook and Instagram. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible,” the company said in a statement.
On Twitter, many users from several countries said they were unable to even access the network. Personally, I was not able to access Facebook’s website, but could still interact with both Facebook and Instagram through apps.
Facebook and Instagram tend to be fairly stable, but don’t have a perfect record. Both services experienced an outage as recently as August, but did not disclose why. The company did not comment on what caused Wednesday’s outage or how long it may be until both networks are up and running again.
